Subsidized Childcare Information

Are you looking for support in paying your childcare fees?

Parents who are working or going to school and are utilizing a licensed childcare program can apply to the municipality of Prince Edward Lennox and Addington to access
subsidy to help cover your fees.  You can contact the subsidy office at 613-354-0114 x 85 or toll free 1-888-354-0114 x 85.

Do you want to know if you would qualify?

You will need to have your notice of Assessment from Revenue Canada (Income Tax form) for both you and your spouse.  Enter the combined income from line 236 of
your Income Tax form and our calculator will estimate what your daily and monthly parental contribution would be.  For example if it determines that your daily contribution
is $20.00 and a childcare spot costs $30.00 then if you qualified subsidy would cover the $10.00 per day difference and the maximum you would pay is $20.00 per day.

Try the subsidy calculator if see if you might qualify

I have used the subsidy calculator and it states that I may qualify, now what?

Call Prince Edward Lennox and Addington Social Services at the numbers listed above for an appointment and application form.  You will need to submit:

·         a copy of your notice of Assessment provided by Canada Customs and Revenue Agency for both you and your spouse OR Child Care Tax Benefit Notice

·         verification of accommodations (rent receipt or property tax notice)

·         verification of employment or school attendance (letter from employer, pay stubs, school schedule or letter from education institution)

·         court documents or verification of custody where applicable

·         social medical referral where appropriate

Please note LARC does not administer the subsidy applications so all applications must be sent to the municipality for processing.

If you have any questions about Subsidy please ask the Supervisor of the centre for more information.

I don't qualify for Subsidy, but I can't afford to pay for childcare fees:

Unfortunately you are not alone, many childcare advocates have been lobbying the government for many years to provide an universal, affordable childcare system so that
every child has access to high quality early learning and childcare programs.  You can help by visiting  www.waitingforchildcare.ca  and clicking on the button I'm having
trouble paying for child care.  By doing this you will be letting your local MPP know that this is a real issue in their community and that you need their support to push for a
     public childcare system in Ontario.
